Commercial Beekeepers
I just recieved a very angry call from a man who did not like my views. Perhaps I should clear up a few things here and now. I believe there are MANY commercial beekeepers who care about the future of the bees and do the right things. I also believe that many more are simply driven by the $ as most business people are, and only base policy on this. I follow the priciples and beekeeping methods of Ross Conrad as outlined in his book Natural Beekeeping. I also believe that the writings of Rudolph Steiner explain many reasons for "colony collapse" as it is called. I also ALWAYS give the customer the honey, when the guy got so mad and really did not believe this I just laughed, know where his heart lies, and its not with the bees its with the $. Those with a world view of people as the pinnacle of a pyramid with a dominion over all creation use this as a reason to do many things. I do not believe this way, we are part of a circle of life,all beings exist in a community of life in which everything supports everything else.-from this perspective every thing in nature has a right to the pursuit of life liberty and happiness. We all are entitled to our own opinions. But I believe that what you do...it does make a difference. Heres a photo of the bucket of beautiful honeycomb taken from the George Wood Prop. job a few entries back, the office staff will gladly tell anyone who calls about the cleanliness and quality of that honey.The net covers the bucket to keep the robber bees out, one big section, and the brood comb, is in the blue tub with the queen in the cage on top, about to go right back into the new hive ready for them. The proof that I do what I say is right here- updated every week or more often than that.--
